Created by friends Kalen Kaminski and Astrid Chastka, Upstate began specializing in wraps and scarves, and evolved into a full ready to wear collection after constant requests for clothing. Based in Brooklyn, Kalen and Astrid make garments utilizing their own take on the Japanese dye method of Shibori and dip dyeing. Each item is hand dyed and one of a kind.
